Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Mile-Shift mobile application ("the App"), operated by Mile-Shift ("we", "us", "our"). By installing or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. The service

Mile-Shift is a mileage and shift-tracking application for iOS and Android. Trip and shift data is stored locally on your device. We do not provide tax, accounting, or legal advice.

2. Subscription & payment

The App offers an auto-renewable subscription via Apple's introductory offer and equivalent Google Play Billing:

Auto-renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew at the same price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID or Google Play account is charged for the renewal within 24 hours of the period end.

How to cancel: iPhone — Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Mile-Shift → Cancel Subscription. Android — Google Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Mile-Shift → Cancel.

If you cancel during the trial period, you will not be charged and access to premium features ends at the end of the trial.

3. Refunds

All subscriptions are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store). Refunds must be requested directly from the respective store; we do not have the ability to issue refunds for App Store or Play Store purchases.

Trip and shift data lives on your device. We do not have a server-side copy of your routes, addresses, or working hours. See our Privacy Policy for details.

You are responsible for backing up your device. We are not liable for data loss caused by device failure, deletion of the App, or operating system reset.

Mile-Shift produces logs containing the columns commonly required for mileage deduction documentation (date, business purpose, start/end addresses, distance). You are solely responsible for ensuring the logs you produce meet your tax-reporting obligations. We do not guarantee acceptance by any specific tax authority.

7. Referral program

The $10 referral payout is awarded only on a referred user's first qualifying paid subscription. We reserve the right to delay, cancel, or claw back referral credits if we detect abuse (self-referral, multi-account fraud, or chargebacks). Payout mechanism and amount may change with notice.

8. Service availability

The App's local functionality (recording, viewing, exporting) works offline. Cloud-sync, referral, and account features require our servers to be operational; we do not guarantee 100% uptime.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mile-Shift is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including but not limited to lost tax deductions, missed claims, or business losses arising from reliance on the App.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be surfaced in the App before they take effect. Continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance.

11. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or abuse the service. Your device-side data is not affected by termination.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Quebec, Canada.
